Finally made it to Wordsley. At first I was disappointed we had missed the light, but the dusk sky made for some interesting pics. We headed straight fot the tower, which was really good. The single ladder took us to the clock faces, which are a fair size, and the evening light gave them a great colour. The bell was good too, and fabtastic to see clock workings in such condition... that still tick! Another fab find was the store room in the cellars, which still had electrical equipment boxed from the 50's. When do you ever see round pin plug sockets still in their original package!? There was also reel to reel projectors, microphones and all sorts of treasures. Oh, and a geiger counter!!

After Wordsley we climbed the chimneys at Joseph Bloomer's iron foundry, which can be found on my site. They are too exposed to do in the daylight. Pics were not great, but good to climb them before they are cut down. Like Coalite, they sway when you are at the top:eek:
Raddog had sense and stayed at the bottom!
