http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/japan/8818400/Japan-offers-10000-free-trips-to-foreigners.html

"Japan will offer 10,000 foreigners free airfares to visit the country next year, in an attempt to boost the tourism industry which has been hit by the ongoing nuclear disaster, a report said on Monday."

Loads of cool stuff there, I'm told, and since both JAL and ANA are very expensive, and the Yen is high...

(I just called the Japan National Tourism Organization, and the Telegraph fluffed their translation - it's currently only in discussion in the Japanese parliament, and they don't see any decision being taken on it before March or so, but still, maybe worth keeping an eye on.)
