Winchester and I hadn't originally planned to do this building, but after finishing at Park Prewett, we arrived at the base of the IBM tower so seemed rude not to. (check the Asylums section)
We walked down to the usual entrance point where I left Winchester with the bags so I could go have a quick scout round for security and any possible entry point.
Found that the way in still hasn't been blocked off, and was ok to do, so came back for Winchester and then we both clambered over to the door in military style. And found our way into the main tower and began the 17 Floor Climb.
we took a quick break at floor 14 to 'sign' the staircase rail. By this point i was sweating loads as i was dressed to explore a cold, open Asylum. not Climb a warm tower :p

Once at the top floor, i was pretty supprised. It used to house all the pipework, machinery and lift control room but there was no sign of any of it. the whole room has been stripped bare with no sign of the control room or any machinery.
Time for another quick break and a drink. And found this sign which just had to be done :rolleyes: (I'm not giving you mouth to mouth W :thumb )

Climbing onto the roof was ok, but had to climb on top of an open bin containing wet asbestos in order to reach the stairs up to it. Most of my pictures from up here came out badly due to high winds and no delayed shutter. So i'll wait for Winchester to get his pictures up as he took some pretty decent ones.
Anyway, from my collection that came out ok.
The View of the top of Festival place and the 'Secret City' at the back which needs an explore from us;

The other end of the building. A shot of the Train station. (The 2 blured sections are 2 freight trains whizzing through.);

Another of the Train station;

And then i noticed a large group of policemen down outside the night club so we had some fun and snapped a few photos. Thought they'd seen us at one point, but instead were just going to yell at a driver;

Sorry about the blur on that last picture, but High winds and extreme zoom proved tricky to control :( Again, W got decent pictures with his tripod and delayed shutter, so we'll have to wait till his are up ;)
On the way out, we ended up involentarily playing hide and seek with the security guard who was just stood there, but didn't see us. So we both dashed up to floor 1 to spy on him so that we could run out as soon as the guard went back in his hut.
Upon running. Winchester decided to run headlong into a metal fence which i stopped for but he didn't see :D I nearly cracked up laughing, nearly giving away the fact we were inside the building. Was funny though :thumb
