EXPLORERS: Robsey and Indy.
ACCESS: Pretty easy considering all the CCTV.
SIZE: Although very tall, deceptively small inside.
FEATURES: Stripped bear, great views.
SECURITY: We didn’t see any but that’s not to say there wasn’t any there.
We walked the perimeter, clocking the huge amount of CCTV cameras, fortunately we were High Vis, and so we didn’t draw to much attention to ourselves. Finding our way in was relatively easy. The 3 ground floor rooms didn’t lead anywhere, so we hit the basement, fortunately this did lead somewhere, straight to the main reception area and the front desk. No security visible so we ascended up the 25 flights of stairs that lead to the roof. On the whole all of the floors and rooms were featureless and stripped bare, apart from a strange buzzing emanating from the corner of one room. We finally reached the roof, which gave great views across the whole of London. Having taken our pictures we made our way slowly back down to the ground floor. The front desk was still unoccupied but there were definite signs of a security presence, a kettle, cups of tea, newspapers and the large CCTV monitor/video recorder that was still clearly on and working. We made our exit. All in all well worth the effort and the climbing.
