Bloody freezing explore, but what the hell, I'm no fair weather explorer! pmsl...
Out with H1971 at Narec, Hebburn.
Huge building, height-wise, but not really much inside worth looking at, but another place done, crossed off...
Anyway, some history;-
Clothier High Voltage Laboratory
The Clothier Electrical Testing Laboratory was opened in 1970 by A. Reyrolle & Company. Narec took over the facility in 2004. The reason it was of interest to the renewable energy organisation was to use it to test the robustness of electrical infrastructure offshore locations to onshore sites, as well as to big load centres in the centre of the UK.
Although one of the only high voltage testing facilities in the world and completely unique in the UK, the facility was closed by Narec in 2011 due to a lack of government funding.
pics;-
sec camera's every where, mainly in the snow! PMSL....

ALSO, it's been closed since 2011 right? So they're obviously not that arsed bout the place, christ, even the sec cam was fucked!
*If mods have any issues with pics, especially pic 1, please feel free to remove.

Well done did you get or could you get anywhere near the other bits they are currently knocking down i did have a look recently and it may have been doable.
