Hi peeps.
Theres a couple of places that are just dying to be explored!
There's a tasty looking hotel in Woolacombe called the Narracott Grand and the Berkeley Hotel along Ilfracombe seafront. Rumours are that the Berkeley has had some fire damage but what the extent of this is I don't know.
Also an old NHS building called Riversvale in Barnstaple.
Sadly the Collingwood (which has been mentioned) has now been demolished but I believe it would have been too dangerous to enter anyway.
All of these buildings are in very public areas BUT I recon you could also slip very quickly out of view once you're over walls/round the back etc.
i might just have too look into the old NHS building!
I'm off to Woolacombe on Sunday so I'll have a look at the Narracott.
There's also a partially demolished hotel set back from the road, further up the hill towards the cut through for Woolacombe bay Holiday park...Think I'll have a mooch up there too.
Cheers for the info![]()
The Narracott is in the middle of submitting new plans, and half the site is open and operating I believe. Certainly worth a mooch.
If your in the area FanGirl, take a peek at Lee Bay tooLike a tit, I forgot my tripod when we went, think there may be some pics on here though...
We looked at the NHS site, still fairly secure, and although not is use, seems cared for.
For your first mission, grab a camera, and get yourself over to Torrington. The old creamery there is great as a first explore.
The old creamery is all fenced off now, only with one way in which is well hidden away. Its great for an adventure though. Always willing to help someone get there!
All you have to do is walk the fence perimeter to find a rather blatant entrance! Certainly the last couple of times I went! Some of the locals also use it as a short cut!
The Dairy Crest Creamery has been on my to-do list for a while because the place holds great photographic interest to me. Barnstaple is just up the road from where I went to university - Exeter. Graduated last year, but I think its time to ring my mates and ask them to let me crash for a couple of days while I tick these sites off
Much obliged for the info! I agree with the others, the Creamery will be a very nice first explore. I know several people that have done it and all reports indicate a mild (but exciting) experience. Good luck!![]()
