The Palace Cinema, on Redcar's Esplanade, was originally one of three cinemas, The Palace, seen here in 1923,
The Central ( named after the plots former use as the central Railway Station) later called the Regent and the Pavillion,
demolished in 1965,
and The New Pavillion ( still open, now called the Regent, and run be volunteers)
The Palace became a Bingo hall in the late 1950's or early 1960's, then an Amusement arcade, the upper floor has not been used since the 1960's but most of the fittings remain intact.

I believe this building was open as part of the Heritage open days in either 2005 or 2006
