After a great day of exploring 3 other sites, myself and Lost headed back here for a snoop, and after some Lost magic found ourselves inside:thumb

The Distillery was established by Glenglasshaugh Distillery Co. in 1875, was then taken over by Highland Distilleries Co Ltd in 1890. It closed in 1907, re-opened 1931, closed 1936, In 1956-1960 it was completely renovated and re-equipped. It was eventually mothballed in 1986.

The whiskey was used in some famous blends such as Cutty Sark, Laing's and Famous Grouse. It is the smallest distillery i have visited, consisting of only two stills. Lost told me there was mention of it re-opening in the Press and Journal, somehow i doubt this, it has many leaks and a lot of the equipment has failed with age, the stills themselves have split at the seams:eek: anyway..

On with the photos..

Thanks for showing me around Lost, was a brilliant day seeing all these places, apart from stepping ankle deep in mud (in trainers)!:p
