This was the last day on site before the christmas break and there was nothing to do but explore the site.So i went around with a work mate known to me and Bubblehead as The voice of Doom.It wa also a good time to take pictures as tower cranes 1 and 4 were being dismantled. One strange thing about this hospital is that it has no kitchens. It is costing £540 million to build and will not be fully open until 2012 when the last sectionis handed over to the hospital.

The hospital has used a lot of Pre-Fabrication its build.all of the shower/toilets for the wards were brought in as pre made pods.this also extend as far as to the pipework and electrical services in the building using a lot of pre made sections or modular systems as they are called as seen above. These section are then lifted up and bolted to the slab and the pipe fitter or sparky would come along and join these modular sections together so taking a lot of the skill out of the job and also the need for skilled labour. You could train a team of monkeys to do the job.
