To be honest ive only really been aware of this place for about a year but it has been closed since 1999 which an extremely long time for it to sit there un-explored, We tryed severall times last year but some sort of ninj0r pikeys were living on site and foiled our attempts with threats of violance so when Kitty posted a decent report a few months back indicating something may well have changed we stuck it back on the list and sure enough as we detoured to Sheffield in search of semi-pro hobo oppetunities we found the place empty and deserted.
Stripping has been pretty extensive but it was still a good little mooch, the brew hall is still amazing with its twin 6ft high glass tubes some how escaping the demo mans hammer. The basment spreads out under the whole site linking all the main buildings with its acient brick arches and small spiral staircases popping up evey now and again. Not much left to rummage in but we did find brewery labels for the scrap book in the 'Pig and Whistle' so we went away happy.
