There seems to be a lack of information on this one. It was built by Cheshire County Cinemas in 1928 and went over to bingo in the 1960's. Awarded Grade 2 listing in 2000, it abruptly closed in February of this year. The group that was formed to re-open the nearby Regal has transferred its efforts to this one, with the backing of the town council, but it all comes down to money(or the lack of it) in the end.
Like the Regal, it is a steel framed building because of the risk of subsidence caused by brine extraction. It became the office of Cheshire County Cinemas, when they sold up in Runcorn. The projection room was converted into an office, leaving no trace of its former use.
This was a spur of the moment visit and I was only allowed a quick tour, but at least it is a record.
