Here's my first post
I was passing by recently and as I had my camera in the car, I thought it would be rude not to pop in. I even managed to persuade the other half to follow me in. Here's a bit of info from 2006:
'The Red Lion is owned by Punch Taverns and managed by the current licensee. The pub has a carvery which is served at both lunch and dinner times. The building was built around 1780 but it is unclear when it started trading as a pub, however records do show that in 1830 it was a public house and was called ‘The Bell.’
I've passed this place a million times but from what I gather, it closed in 2010 for unknown reasons. Not quite sure what the plans are but it seems to be slowly stripped down for redevelopment or demolition. It's a shame to see it in such a state, the cellar is completely flooded. Anyway, on with the photos, apologises for the barrel distortion but all I had was my fisheye and limited time!
Thanks for looking!
