Bit of history pinched from RichPDG, (who seemed to be in mere moments after us haha)
Cincinnati Machine Tools was a world renowned manufacturer of milling machines. In the 1950's a large factory and modern headquarters was built alongside the canal at Erdington. The buildings are a striking post war modernist statement running along a traditional section of Birmingham waterway, with a single curved span concrete bridge connecting the main entrance to the opposite bank. The design has a particularly modern transatlantic feel when compared to many other contemporary industrial headquarters.

here's the site in it's former glory.

Took us a few goes to get in. After spending what seemed like forever trying to find a way in (being idiots ) got into the big empty warehouse which i imagine was the machining floor. Got covered in anti climb paint, also found evidence that people have been climbing in the sewers too judging by the subsequent stains. Thought this would lead into the main building, and it did at one point, but it's all bricked off.

Eventually stopped being idiots and after a brief dip in the canal for one of my colleagues, we made it in. Only to be confronted by two dudes there to 'secure' the site. Propped a door against the entrance, and escorted us out. We poiletely followed and waved them down the street goodbye, and walked back around and climbed in :thumb

Nice work mate, some good pictures you got there. Those bloody alarms were loud and were pretty persistent. We were on the top floor watching when you lot were getting chucked out lol.

accessed it late summer but turned back after the first few rooms as i was at work in a few hours so didn't have time to get caught, a week later it was sealed tight .... still the access alone was half the fun but only if you have no fear of broken limbs
