Ah, football- a test of fitness, endurance, heart and anal resilience. Of over paid prima donna's falling over at nothing waiting for the magic sponge and penalty to appear. Performances worthy of a BAFTA before driving home in their million pound supercars- maybe i'm just jealous or maybe its the rumours that its not just the oranges that get sucked at half time, that puts me off football, but this is the story of the ground not the players so I shall begin.
Explored with CheltOriginal, once I could drag him away from his love of French poetry and soft furnishings we had a relaxed, undisturbed mooch on a chilly afternoon.

FOOTBALLS NOT COMING HOME
This is the Meadow Park site the club moved to in 1986 after selling the former grounds at Horton road to Westbury Homes. In its prime it could hold 4'500 with 560 seats. Like the club the grounds have had their highs and lows, and after being flooded three times in a decade, the last time without insurance as they couldn't get flood insurance any longer, the club were forced to pull the plug (sorry.)
The supporters were both devastated, as were the owners who despite spending over £1m on planning proposals since abandoning the grounds in 2007 are still trying to turn the tide (sorry again,) after having yet another proposal put on hold. The last £5m planning idea for a 'community site' was rejected last month.
Since 2007 the players have had to borrow and share grounds with other clubs, sharing Cheltenham Town FC's Whaddon Road site for three years.

That was a very nice report, well done huey. It looks like it was a nice little ground, just a shame it must have been built on a flood plain.
