Beelitz Military Hospital, Berlin - 10/05/07
Unreal architecture, natural decay, no vandalism, great history and hopefully good pictures. More main halls than you could throw a stick at. A bit of history first... Built around 1900 as a TB sanatorium, and used as a military hospital in the First World War. It was here that Lance Corporal Hitler was treated after being shot in the Somme in 1916... he wasn´t too impressed... http://www.hitler.org/writings/Mein_Kampf/mkv1ch07.html After the Second World War, it belonged to the Russians, and it was their most respected hospital outside of Russia. Erich Honecker stayed here in 1990. The Russians left in 1994, and it is now derelict. A building from the outside...  A hall..  Some Soviet murals on the walls...     Another hall...  A couple of different corridors...   Stairs...  Corridor...  Russian poster...  Across the rooftops...  A landing...  and a veranda...  Externals...  This room was unbelievable, a huge tiled dome, in mint condition, with a small pool in the middle...   Soviet books and papers...  Nice staircase...  Rooftops...  A couple of pictures of another hall...   and another hall, maybe the strangest yet, it had a log cabin...    Externals...  Soviet papers...  Hitler passed through this station, wounded...
