Archived Report - Rhiw-bach slate mine

Rhiw-bach was one of the smaller players compared to some mines & quarrys around Ffestiniog. Quarrying began in the early 1800's & lasted until the mid 1950's. There is also plenty to see on the surface but today was not the day to photograph it as the mist was low, it was pouring & I was very very wet!
Below ground was a different story, apart from rushing water down the incline, the mine was quite dry.
