Report - St Lawrences Hospital, Bodmin - March 2009

Upon arriving access looked impossible, with almost every external window boared up.

The County Lunatic Asylum, for the reception of private patients and pauper lunatics, a little to the west of the Town of Bodmin on a site of about 9 acres, consists of eight blocks of buildings radiating from a centre, with annexes and detached blocks subsequently erected and residences for the various officers.

MY GOD DUDE! I think I remember going past a derelict (by god I tell you it was, it looked wrecked! And before you ask NO I am not confusing it with the local Gaol) hospital between 2002 and 2005 on my way to Bodmin Gaol, and my Dad said it was an old hospital that closed in the early 90s! He said they had moved somewhere else in Bodmin. Maybe this was it?

the hall looks bit wet was dry when we were last in there. good in there. didn't get bustef by security then ?

yea the main all is very cool but is also lots of leaks which is destroying this lovely building
