The ABC is a cracking art-deco cinema on the outside. Inside it is a mish mash of art-deco, 1960's and 1970's styles. Access has been made 20 times easier by the demoiltion crew. Demolition has started in one of the screens but not the other. There are still a handfull of original seats left, and the sound system. The bar is cool... no other way to deccribe it! The ABC was the first cinema in Leicestershire to get a licenced bar.
Nice explore, pity it's being stripped. It was again a solo explore, and believe me it was creepy in the pitch black screen on my own! Search blaster did me proud once again with the pics!!
Original seats... note the ashtray in the armrest!
Your seat lacks an ashtray?? Dont fret, there is one in front of every seat too! What smokey places cinemas must have been!
Original plasterwork creeps back through. One of the pictures is the god of music, I forget her name...
Lobby, with it's wacky roof!
Somebody needs to save that bunting!
Steps from enterance hall to screens
Screen 2, which has been messed up during asbestos removal
Original art-deco plasterwork is revealed during the demolition
