Other than Chatterley, Foxfield is the only of Staffordshire's cllieries to still have it's headgear. The colliery site has been used by industry, and is now being restored with Lottery money. I must admit, as good as it is the site will be preserved, I'm not a fan of the whole "stabalised ruin" bollocks. The large headstock has had it's steps and ironwork stripped off it, prob to make it 'safe', but I think it has lost something in that process.
The building below it has had a new tin roof on it which looks completly wrong on the building... but I suppose we have to be glad it is still standing!
The smaller of the two headstocks was climbable (with some imagination! ), but it was more of a tick off the list than anything else, as it was not very high and in terrible condition!

The ironwork stripped off the 'restored' headstock is lying in a huge heap...
