I was mountain biking last week in the French alps and after popping out of the trees came across this place...

I didn't have my SLR on me so took no photos but the place is pretty incredible.

Apparently is was destined to be a thermal spring hotel, powered and heated by the natural hot spring beneath it. But during installation of the foundations they somehow damaged the spring.

It has a very cool pool area, basement and main building.

You can access the thermal spring under the pool by climbing down here...

Well worth an explore if anyone is passing the area.

So I went back to this place... just happened to be passing (Like you do 850 miles away from home on a random French alpine pass)... still didn't manage to get into it properly partly because my Fiancé has been very ill and is a bit of a psycho, and mainly because some hippy types were camping out on the first floor somewhere.

It could be an amazing place to shoot if you have a tripod and some time. You can walk 5m up into the tunnel where the hot spring is before there is a gate which I didn't try to open... very weird walking up a 30c river though.
