    Gedney Railway Station - Lincolnshire

Hello 28DL, this is my first report, on a place which has been under my nose since the age of 5. Hope you enjoy it!

    First, a bit of history:
Gedney Railway Station was a station in Gedney, Lincolnshire,on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway line. It opened on 1 July 1862, and closed on 2 March 1959. The station survives today in a derelict state, with the track removed, but with platforms, and original sign intact.

    Some pictures from the archives:

1961, just after closure. Here you can see the station as it would have been, with the sheds and signal box (since removed)

A view of the station yard in 1960. At this point, the station was open for freight only.

The sign which was displayed after the station closed, in 1959.

    The Visit:
I visited the station on March 31 2015, after finally getting enough time to be able to do it!
The platforms are still intact, along with the original station building, and sign. The engine shed was removed in 2005, however. The station is still owned by British Railways, but is open to the elements, with all doors and windows gone. Part of the roof has also collapsed, and the floors are incredibly unstable, as I found out first-hand.
Most of the photos were shot with my Canon AE-1 Program, on Kodak Tri-X from 1987, although the first two were shot on Polaroid 690, and some with my (shockingly bad) digital camera. There should be some more photos added soon, too, but I have not got round to developing them yet! Will add them ASAP after they are ready!
Enough from me, and here are the photos!

Hope you enjoyed my little report, and I should hopefully have the photos of the outside up soon!
    Have a good day!

It's a good history fella but the place is a bit of a wreck. Can you dump off the flickr links please?
