After many failed attempts on this hotspot we finally made it in :D and cant believe we had not done so before, I need to stop looking at things as though its mission impossible and start using the front door more haha

I know this place gets a lot of coverage on hear and to be fair hands down to the place, some parts of the building are like walking back in time. I found myself many a time looking at items and thinking " god I wish some retard had not smashed that up" i would of loved to had seen this place a few years back!!

Was more than happy to see that nearly every pigeon in there was just a skeleton on the odd floor, was expecting to get shit up by them many a time but not this time!! Nerris 1 pigeon 0, speaking of floors tread very careful , i was happy I had missed breakfast!!!

After mooching round many rooms and been so happy on how we got in our explore came to an end, or so we thought! The entrance we used to get in had been sealed up very tight while we had been inside...... o dear!!! At this point we found it very amusing and went in search of another way out, only to not find one!! We must of walked back and forwards though this place severn or eight times, time was getting by we ended up on the roof to see if we could climb down the other side, no joy but did get one final snap of the sun going down, Nice!!! haha

It got to a point where a non member was going to call the fuzz on ourself to come rescue us, when all along the exit had been right infront of us, we must of walked past it over and over :banghead school boy error!!! in total it took over an hour to get out, will never forget this one lol

    History:

George Barnsley & Sons Ltd was founded in 1836 and were originally situated on Wheeldon Street, Sheffield. By 1849 they had moved to the Cornish Works, which were much larger premises. They specialised in the manufacture of files and cutting tools for use in the shoe making industry.

There are a number of family names that are known to have deep roots in the Sheffield area, and the Barnsley name is undoubtedly one of them. In 1650 George Barnsley became Master Cutler, a role fulfilled by another George Barnsley in 1883. This George Barnsley was of the second generation of the firm of George Barnsley and Sons, toolmakers.

The business grew to become the world’s leading producer of tools for shoemakers. The technological revolution of the 20th century saw a decline in the need for traditional tools. George Barnsley’s survived until 2003 when the premises finally closed.

    On With The Shots!!

    Hope you all enjoy.........:)

    Nice ones mate :thumb

Always a nice site this even though it's empty compared to old reports, but I still have fond memories even before the Castle Gates were installed :)

Surprised those bridges are still up TBH and it'll be eventful when the old Forges fall through the roof, it'll be like a deck of cards :)
