Yes - I know someone who's been inside (officially) - apparently not much to see anyway.

Well that was the worst cinema I have ever been to in my life.

Spent a while searching out every corner, every roof, every ceiling. Only thing of note was the letter/sign storage room. The rest have obviously been extensively stripped back to the steels when it was last refurbished (late 90s?), not even a bit of plaster or anything!
Plenty of Redhill & Brown steels though, all nicely painted (the smaller ones sign-written rather than stenciled) with their name.
Didn't take a single photo it was that grim.
Also think a lot of the stripout took place a few years back, then the rest in the last few months.

It's a fine old Art Deco building and I wish someone had done something with it sooner. I think there is going to be another bland office block on the site. Probably to lie empty as well. Another bit of Glasgow disappearing!

I was in maybe about the middle of last year. It looked pretty much as it had done when it closed in 2006, with no seats or projectors, and the screens ripped out to remove the speakers behind. Main difference was that there had been quite bad water ingress along the West Regent Street side of the building. Worst affected were Screens 2 and 6, which are stacked atop each other at that point, and the corridor outside Screen 7. Very mouldy!

Nothing much of the original 1934 interior left anyway, as the 1970 subdivision into three screens was a fairly thorough gutting job. Subsequent divisions into six screens in the late 80s and nine screens in 1999 hid even parts of the original 1970 subdivision. The largest area of original decoration left was the ceiling of the tea room, which is behind the upper part of the big corner windows.

I did have my camera with me last year, but stupidly forgot to check the battery was charged. So only got a few fuzzy phone snaps.

I'd be very curious to see how it looks inside now - if anyone else goes in, please do get a shot or two, regardless of how uninteresting it looks (I used to work there on and off for about 11 years!)

I was passed it at the start of the week and there was pretty much nothing left of it, the demolition has well and truly started.

Yup just the fascade left now, got a few photos of the brick work at the back coming down in medium format, they'll surface from my fridge when I get the time.
TBF I'm surprised they are even keeping the fascade, I like it, but I've seen much fancier, in much better condition being demo'd for lesser reasons.

My boyfriend used to work here when it was open.

It has been sad to see the place sitting empty and deteriorating to the condition it was left in for years, but I suppose it had to come down eventually.

I wish I had gotten into it officially, could have used it as an interesting location for models :(
