Theres 8 culverts along the Gore brook, achieving 7 since May 2014.
Finally managing all 8, thankyou too Jobs and Paradox for making this happen. :thumb
The access is tight too say the least, maybe its time too diet
theres a ledge but wouldnt want too slip , the chute leads too a sump and syphan resulting in drowning.
But once in it was well worth the effort , theres some facinating brick work along these pipes
even though the concrete tubes are abit boring.
Gorton Falls by stranton, visited with Jobs & Paradox.

This is a 2 mile culvert which carries the Gore brook across and around Gorton high / low reservoirs,
discharge from the reservoirs exits via a spillway, 200yd culvert, then merges beneath the first falls.
The infall lies too the east of Gorton high reservoir, towards Audenshaw reservoir.
The culvert consists of concrete tube, brick pipe, falls (one which is substantial) and side pipes or tubes.
Rather than the usual outfall theres a 20yd chute which leads too a sump then syphon, lies too the west of Gorton low reservoir.
the sump lies below this captures the dregs, while the syphan lies above this causes water too rise by pressure,

this concrete tube continues towards the infall

this chute leads to the sump and syphan,
slip here and the result will be drowning

    kind of strange outfall

Nice one @stranton , glad you got to do it after all!

This is pretty much the sum total of my pics. Mainly because I couldn't be arsed to get the tripod out so did my usual dodgy hand held flash job! As it turns out I should have left the bloody thing at home as I lost it anyway and now owe Jobs a new Velbon Tripod!
