Site: Grain Tower Battery, Kent | Status: Vacant | Information:

Present: October 2014 - AJ, Layla, Matt & Urban Fox

The sale of the property for a sum in the region of £400,000 prompted a 300 mile journey south in the pouring rain of late October. We arrived to low tide, overcast sky and a short walk across the causeway to the fort. Accessing the fort itself couldn’t be easier thanks to a conveniently placed ladder. After an inquisitive look around in the dark we setup camp and settled down to watch a film thanks to the pocket projector Urban Fox had brought along. As the early hours descended the base of the fort became engulfed by the Thames Estuary and we retired to get some kip. By morning the tide had receded, we took photographs, had breakfast and headed back to the mainland.

Photographs of the ammunition hoist are missing so please refer to a previous report if you've missed it.

Note to the new owner: The twin six-pounder quick firing gun emplacement needs to be turned in to an infinity pool, it's asking for it.

Thanks. Here's an ultra wide angle shot as well. I didn't include it in the report for the sodium lights on the left.

No, I guess not, only around £400,000. Come on, keep up at the back, it's all mentioned in the report. Here's an article on it.

    What Wevsky said.
