Myself, Romperwoman, Whiskeyonesix, Mikey-t and Batman had a trip over to this place the weekend, cant believe i have lived so close to this place and never really explored it! the place is huge! it is also very, very trashed and some floors are a little dodgy. was a good day out need to go bk someday to finish it off. i think it was mentioned that just as we were leaving security turned up, dunno if it was just a coincidence or if we were spotted but i dont think they really saw us there. here are a few of the pics i took....

Re: Great Barr Hall/St Margarets (56k warning)

Ok, I've given up with google video and uploaded them to putfile instead. Three short video clips (although they are rather large files - I don't know how to resize them). The first is the view from the main driveway, the second is inside one of the buildings, and the third is the view from the main hall roof:

Photo's to follow very soon I promise. :)

Ok, I am really slack - I have only just sorted through my pics from Great Barr. Here are a selection:

A room with the remains of a chair in one of the accomodation blocks:

A bathroom that desperately needs the attention of 'Changing Rooms':

Walking up the central driveway (almost reminds me of a beatles album cover...):

A communal room in one of the accomodation blocks:

A ceiling feature in the same block:

A rare section of remaining wooden block flooring:

A rather pink toilet in the same block (presumably a ladies):

A temperature gauge on one of the boilers:

    The main hall from outside:

The main hall with the afternoon sun shining in:

A room somewhere behind the main hall:

Heading up the clock tower we came across this rusty cabinet. My guess is that it was for holding film reels as it was near the projectionists booth. I'm probably wrong though...

The clock tower from the roof of the main hall:

I've just found St Margarets on google earth, I didn't realise it was such a huge site.
Is any of it still in use, because there seems to be loads of buildings.
