Been wanting to do this forever and a day! The colliery engine has been lovingly been restored by a group of enthusiasts, and is actually steaming next weekend. The building has had some light restoration, but the headstock is still in a terrible state of repair, awaiting a 3/4 of a million resoration.

The old fellas were reluctant to let me climb, but one of them said "you go for it, if you fall you know who's fault it is!"

On that note I climbed round the cahe on the ladder, making lots of iron work wobble , and took the ladder to the top! I'd been up there about 10 seconds when a second old fella was not so sure about the whole affair, and told me to come down... not before some pics:D

Does it make me a gold star seeker to say this is a first??!

And finally, another one for the collection...
