    Hi all,

great site some really good photos and information at hand.
Im currently a noob to urban exploring and photography, but I'm looking to change that.

I joined mainly because Im struggling to find locations to explore in the leeds area, the ones I could find are torn down or just not there anymore. I wish I'd got in to this stuff sooner!

    Thanks.

I know right, Sheffield is the place to be for Urbex. Leeds has a few gems but they are mostly out of the city centre in the sticks. Welcome anyway :)

The ones you find are torn down or not there anymore ? Do you not have any reports you could post showing these sites that are torn down or not there anymore ??

As you've not mentioned anywhere you've been or stuck some reports up members will have a hard time guessing which torn down or not there anymore buildings youve visited so some info would help ;)

As you've obviously exhausted Leeds there's no point in using the Search box for locations in your area.....best give it up ;)

Or as the member for 11 months with zero posts points out.....Sheffields where it's at ?

Haha I did use the search box!
Then I dug round on the internet and found a lot of them were gone.
IE st matthews catholic school looked a good one to go to, but there is a ton of building work going on with it.

Then there was a large mill on the leeds and liverpool canal it was used by squatters and it had a clock tower I think.
Last bit of info I could get on that place was that it had builders all over it.
The library on york road is locked up tight but has a grand old wooden design to it, there might be a way in round the back of it..

I do have some information though, there are two old schools for girls In leeds that are open to a bit of UE.
That was all the info the guy would give me from his facebook page, when I asked him a street address he went quiet.

I've noticed with Leeds, most of the places are being or have been refurbished, but it's nice to think the secret still lives behind the walls. For instance, The Merrion Centre has a few stories to tell from yesteryear. The Tunnels, the Cinema, The Clubs. But again access is tightly restricted. Let me know if you find anything.

    I will fella.

The entire hush-hush thing with this stuff is a bit weird.
I can understand it if someone finds a gem and they want to keep it quiet for a while, but you're right Leeds is being overhauled just about everyplace now, and with limited access (ie no car, relying on buddies to drive) this exploring becomes even harder to pull off.

You can check listed buildings, but then you have to cross examine it with google and you can be there for ages and still not get any info.
Tis a difficult thing to nail properly without community input.

Some may suggest that this is a little rich coming from someone who's been a member on 28 for 3 years now who has a total of 3 messages and no reports on here.

Maybe if long standing members like you actually contributed to the forum for once there would be more information for new members to find.

Especially as you've pretty much exhausted Leeds.

I look forward to seeing your extensive reports and i'm sure you'll feel better for actually giving something to the 28 community for once ;)

Good point. I find most of the other forums to be alot more user friendly. But 28dl isnt too bad since the revamp. Although my old posts have disappeared. Sorry I offered to help you out though. That was obviously completely out of order of me. Good luck figuring it all out for yourself....like everyone else had too.

Ahh well, maybe you need to familiarise your self with some stuff around Leeds then. You might recognise more things. If you do get about Leeds and bump into us, be sure to say hi. Sorry to have upset you so much.

Leeds is shit, jST lives there.

Oh, and just to correct everyone, Sheffield is not urbex, Huddersfield is prime urbex.
