    Visited with Dweeb and Speed.

After a crippling night's sleep in Hotel Peugeot in a Tesco car park, we staggered down towards the docks whilst soaking up the morning sunshine. The floors inside were patchy and to be honest, pretty scary! As we progressed downstairs, it just got more and more impressive. Because of being on the docklands, the ice house has been spared the usual pikey damage so 20 years of decline is purely down to natural decay. I'm so glad we finally got to see it, I have no idea how they're going to save it. Apparently it's on the English Heritage At-Risk register although I can't see any evidence of how they've helped its downfall to be honest!

The Ice House is situated on the Grimsby Docks, and is also within the East Marsh Ward; and is seen by thousands of tourists who visit the area every as it is on the main road to Cleethorpes sea front.

The Ice House was the lifeline of Grimsby’s Docks, producing thousands of tonnes of ice per day; however the former Grimsby Exchange Ice Factory is now just a shell according to the Telegraph.

It was built in 1900 and closed in 1990.
