By coincidence I had a look at Hanworth House (@kkj this is the one I was talking about) last week whilst looking for sites in this part of London. Wouldn't know if its a ganja farm or not... but the house is definitely being lived in.. I saw washing drying on the veranda and an old half-wrecked van parked outside the house. A dog is on a long chain at the main gate and that dog was going crazy and barking away with me on the right side of the fence. The palisade fence all around the site is pulled down in places and dead easy to cross with plenty of tree cover.

I believe the above poster and based on what I saw myself, all sounds very feasible to me.

are we talking about Hanworth Park House?

"Hanworth Park Hotel continued after the war Second World War until 1953 when it was purchased by Middlesex County Council and opened in the mid 1950s as an old people’s home. In 1965 its administration was taken over by the London Borough of Hounslow. The house is now in private ownership. The property currently sits derelict but very secure, is grade 2 listed, and access inside is not possible"

I am, Hanworth Park was an airfield specialising in airships and General Aircraft Limited aircraft (who had a factory next to Hanworth park). The airfield had to close just after WW2 as it was too close to Heathrow Airport and was affecting their air traffic control. Hanworth House was a military hospital in WW1 and then the clubhouse for the air club. It's a fantastic building deeply buried in the trees with an impressive clocktower and veranda, and was reported once in here many years ago

Came away from my brief recce thinking "pikey camp" - what's been said up there by the original poster makes sense to me

We found army camo tents still in there wrappers tied up on the fences and trolleys set up as make shift ramps for an easy get away,we got in and close to the porch but then we heard talking and saw the pot stash so we went back to the tree line and observed them digging the basement out then bringing plants in black bags in.

So anyone else going be alert

This is a public forum Steven - announcing future plans just alerts site security, site owners, the local neighbourhood watch curtain twitchers, etc.

Fair enough mate, it just had the hallmarks of a "Warn and run" technique that you see used by people trying to keep folk away. My apologies. Perhaps you should be letting the cops know?

The "polish pot farmers" are the sites security, the owners gave a tour of the place a couple months back and the polish was still there helping with parking, I think there offering housing to these people for free security
