So, I'm totally new to the world of Urbex. I've seen plenty of videos, photos and reports.

But I'm keen to hear any tips you might have for an absolute amateur.

The thought of just finding somewhere, going in without permission and having a mooch around seems daunting. :(

How do you handle the pressure on your very first outing?

    Thanks,
    Dan

With Starbursts and diet lemonade, ;)

Best tip is to get out there and give it a go, start with something small and work your way up. Looking forward to seeing your work.

Hey, I'm a new member just getting in to this too. I'm also just outside of Manchester. I'm getting a little braver going and mooching around places but still won't go anywhere without at least 1 other person with me.

There's a church on the way I to Manchester (coming from the Leeds end of the M62) that looks amazing but really restricted access.

That sounds interesting! I'm trying to find places with as easy access as possible at the moment but google isn't being much use. haha

GRONK knows what he's saying, find something small and 'easy' (clean access, little security, etc.) then work your way up

Manchester is a great place to explore as are the surrounding areas for the new comer and the more experienced explorer..

I've posted a report on St Thomas Hospital in Stockport which is basically in Manchester, as a location there's not much there, in quite a bad state but there's enough buildings to easily get in to and have a look around. It's nothing special but access is easy, no security and a decent size for a warm up first explore imo.

Hi, I'm pretty new to this too so it'd be great to meet some of you and organise a few things! Would anyone fancy meeting up for a coffee/pint in January?

That'd be perfect. Somewhere round the city centre so it's easy for everyone to reach?
