    Ola,

I'm around northern Cambridgeshire (between Peterborough and Huntingdon). Looking to get out and about making use of my new camera. New to this, of course, but always been interested in places I see. Contemplating a trip out to the Falklands in the future which should be very interesting (my father served there in the 80s - should be able to acquire all the minefield maps and such so might be able to get a little more intimate there than most).

Gotta start off locally though, if anyone knows of anything worth checking out I'm open to suggestions - I'll be off to the Scottish highlands early next year most likely in a hired camper, so also looking for any hints around there.

Also considering getting together with some locals, so anyone in this region feel free to get in touch. I know a bunch of places I'd like to explore locally but some of them are a bit risky (notably Peterborough district hospital - it's been done a lot already but there has been a lot of police attention since people went to steal copper from the walls... copper which was at the time being used to transfer water through the building for whatever reason). The other problem is that I'm scared of heights (lol, right? yeah, it's pretty serious though, serious enough that I felt it was worth mentioning here... I don't mean just like scared to go up a crane, I mean walking up a staircase which has windows along side it anything above the 2nd or 3rd floor will make me feel quite sick - I'm also emetaphobic which kinda adds to that complexity.)

Life story over, anyway, if people have suggestions please let me know!

    See ya'll around!

    Hey welcome!

I'm just south east of Huntingdon.

Have you checked out RAF Upwood yet? Couple of videos on my channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC60ovx8KvfoaOtQLFXu0aDw/videos

If you haven't been, let's meet there and I can show you around :)

We also have The Nuffield/Evelyn Hospital and Houghton Grange on our doorsteps, neither of which I have explored yet, but I know locations and access for both!

Also check out the locations feature here on 28DL! ;)

    Thanks :)

Didn't know Upwood was an RAF base to be honest with you - although knew it had some military history I'd kinda assumed it was either army orjust used as a place for American troops to relax between European trips. I was contemplating heading to RAF Warboys which supposedly has some interesting stuff, the pillboxes and such. Apparently there's something near RAF Wyton which used to be some sort of mental health asylum, looks like it might be worth the trip out (supposed to be this place: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x7abe27ca8fbb5fdb!6m1!1e1) although not sure how accessible it is. I've stopped down there briefly and it looked rather military to me which makes sense given its proximity to RAF Wyton, but interested to check it out.

I'm over in Warboys btw - not far from you at all!

I know what you mean about highs, I get a nose bleed on a step ladder

There's loads to do in your area and if you don't mind putting on a set of waders there's quite a few drains which are worth a look.

Just use the search box on the top of the page and get stuck in

Hi thanks for getting in touch me and my mates also members of 28 days are meeting up for a drink tonight to discuss our next outing, I spoke to them yesterday and mentioned you had been in touch and I think Nuffield hospital could be well worth a trip. I'm taking my son to thurleigh control tower first thing in the morning, as they went last Sunday and said it was easy to get in, they got some great pics which they will be posting soon, unfortunately I was working and couldn't make it, so tomorrow it is. Will be in touch later tonight, thanks darren
