built in 1869 by a mr henry hoyle hardman a lancashire cotton magnate , listed as a grade 2 the house was lived in by the hardman family till 1903 and then sold on .
not much is known about the place till the early 60s ! 1960s to the 1980s it was an old peoples home and a wedding venue 1993-2008 , planning applications to turn the residence back into a private dwelling has continually been refused by the local council !
the house is currently on the market for £500,000 , in the few years it has been vacant nature n vandalism has taken a toll on the place !
this was a last minute visit for me , pics of the jags spurred me on to visit at once ! gaining access was pretty easy , lots to see n do ! i recommend anybody to visit this site , there are aprox a dozen cars and half a dozen vans n trucks and also caravans n containers , there is even a classic alvis sports car to be found ! i did,nt gain access to the main house but i did find a ballroom with a bar ! jag 2.jpg jag 3.jpg jag 5.jpg jag 6.jpg jag 8.jpg jag 9.jpg jag 10.jpg jag 11.jpg jag 12.jpg jag 13.jpg jag 14.jpg jag 15.jpg jag 17.jpg jag 18.jpg jag 20.jpg jag 21.jpg jag 24.jpg jag 25.jpg jag 27.jpg jag 28.jpg jag 29.jpg jag 30.jpg jag 31.jpg jag 32.jpg jag 33.jpg jag 35.jpg jag 36.jpg jag 39.jpg jag 40.jpg jag 1.jpg

Cracking report , you have some really nice shots there :thumb
its a shame how a lovely building and some pretty cool cars can be left
to just be reclaimed by nature.
