Stood in a quiet rural area this place has certainly taken a beating and stood the test of time,
but still a very interesting place to visit.

    History

In the 1920s one of the large printing unions built this house to use as a convalescent home,
shortly after this in1921 named after the printers lost in the war, it became Natsopa Memorial Home.
Pilgrim Homes then bought it in 1974, it then became a care home for elderly Christians,
and so renamed Hornsey Rise Memorial Home.

Run by a Christian couple the home based itself around Christian values and prayer,
forming a peaceful community for the elderly to live in. The site itself consists of 3 main buildings,
2 bungalows, a pavilion, gardens, a chapel, and a hall.

Sadly the home closed in 2012 and has become a time capsule of memories of residents
    once loved home.

Captured quite well. It's a shame that places like this close down. Look's like you had a great time here

    Thanks much appreciated.
It is a shame and just imagine how many people spent the rest
Of their lives there, I'm a care assistant so places like this hit home a bit.
It was very good fun though, but was my first explore alone so I was a
    Bit nervous : )

This place turned me on to this forum after doing a bit of research about the place and it's occasional inhabitants. I went last night with the expectation of exploring just the main front building as the other's are barely visible from the road. As the real intention was to play silly buggers in the dark rather than a dedicated explore we didn't bring the usual paraphernalia, phone light was the only solace, this however added to the charm and the fear factor (even if it was just not knowing if someone was hiding behind endless doors). It's really interesting to see how this site has developed over time through the photos posted by you and others. I've been inspired to take this exploring thing a bit more seriously and will be coming back here very soon. I've got a couple of sites I can't seem to find on here and I plan on making my first report shortly.

That is great to hear and quite inspiring , it's nice to know
You enjoy what you do and that you are planning to do more.
It's a very interesting place but just try not to get paranoid
As it is quite quiet , I think in these places especially your mind
Can start to play tricks on you.

Enjoy, looking forward to seeing some reports :thumb
