Well as every man and his dog has been to Hellingly in the last couple of months, I couldnt really say no when Gillyboy suggested we went and had a look.
Ive been a bit lame at getting out as of late and its been on my list since I moved to the area. Fueled by rocky road cake (yum yum!) and hosin duck crisps (not so good) we made our way there. Despite having seen more reports than I can remember on this place I was still amazed by the scale of it. I also find it hard to believe just how much time and effort people have put into trashing it.

Looks like it was one of the more quiet days, bumped into a couple of groups of explorers and some people taking gothicy photos of a poor lass who looked like she was about to freeze to death in a filmsy white dress.

Anyway on with the pics (lots of corridors I'm afraid. I'm a fan)

    Day room in the sunlight

Period fireplace and lots of peely paint

Bog shot. Probably one of the very few intact ones left.

Some of the new graff, very good it is too.

Gilly with some of the cell window glass. It sure is thick.

View over the site from what i think was the staff accomodation block.

This bush in a room next to the hall was coved in folded paper with question marks on it. Some "art" maybe.

    Last corridor promise

All in all a nice relaxed afternoons explore, once you had got used to the doors banging in the wind that it. Got to see a lot of the place but its definately worth a few trips back to take in whats left and spend some more time on some better shots. Would also like to make it to the top of the water tower. I pussied out this time as I didnt fancy rolling around in pigeon crap.

    Hope you enjoyed.

    Ta!
