I know this place has been shown on here quite a bit but this is my first 'recorded' visit and hopefully my fisheye lens is interesting enough to make you look at my pics!...

So, a bit of history about "Dr X's house (and, being a previous employee of NHS Doncsater I know a little bit more about the case and what eventually happened to the good Dr.)...

It would appear that more and more car parts are being taken and there was evidence of movement in the garage (scrape marks on the floor etc.). Personally, I think if someone wants to give me the house I'd give it a good go at renovating it! It's certainly impressive.

The history, back in 1991 where a certain Dr could not detain a patient for a substantial time under the Mental health Act, who had threatened that she would kill someone. Even though she had attacked someone previously. She was released and a few days later she actually stabbed and killed a young girl of 11, in a Doncaster shopping centre. The fallout that followed forced the Dr from the house never to return, leaving lots of possessions including Classic cars to rot away subjected to the elements and people.

A link to the case is here, pinched from Scot Hutchesons post

Psychiatric Killings (Doncaster) (Hansard, 9 March 1994)

Place was much easier to find than I thought - after looking on Google Maps and struggling to find the place it turns out it's much easier to find.

A great place - would have loved to see it in it's prime, and such a shame that something with so much potential has gone to ruin.

Took my daughter as well and she had a great time (which for a 14 year old, finding something that interests her other than her mobile phone is proving difficult...

    Anyway... on to the pics:

Extra info - camera is Olympus PL5 and lense is Samyang 7.5mm fisheye. The pics such as third from bottom are 15mm body cap lens. This was my first outing with the new camera and really pleased with it.

Took lots more pics but won't bore you guys with everything!

Bright pink top - defo NOT spec-ops!

I also use the Sammy on my Panny G Cameras, always the one too go to for shooting your feet :)

The Body Cap explains it all then..........and why i didn"t get one :D

You should add the History to your initial report heading, it"ll prevent it from deletion, and you have 24 hrs to edit it in from original time of posting. So i"ve read in the FAQ"s :)

And best not giving people/scum advance warning of explores on a Public Forum....safety first

As for the door of names it wasn"t there early last year, it seemed to turn up after that 28DL bloke sold his story to the Mail along with the rapid increase in theft from the Cars. I was going to put vehicles but the Dumper seems to have been overlooked .....so far :)

Yes - just getting used to the lens and keeping fingers and legs out of shot can be difficult!

Any suggestions where to head to next?

Good point about putting where/when going somewhere...

Sheffield mate :) but only after you"ve typed Doncaster in the search bar first and exhausted that :)

Trouble with the Sammies is you cannot always guarantee that Infinity is actually in focus, on the G"s i check with the on screen magnification as it"s a MF lens and shoot @ F5.6/8 for best detail....hopefully :)

Don"t know if you have Focus Peaking on the Oly ? if so i"d use that it"s easier. That"s what i use on my Sony A77 99% of the time and you know what"s in focus in the dark as well :)

No focus peaking on the pl5 unfortunately. I also made the mistake of leaving the P setting on an art effect today and have just seen now I'm back. Not too bad as the site wasn't great so not too bothered that the images arent great.

I do same though - zoom in and focus on subject then go back to normal view before taking pic.

Sheffield definitely on the cards. Seen a few other places on my travels today that need some investigting :)
