A visit to Kupari, a war damaged hotel resort in Croatia that was bombed from the sea by Yugoslav warships and gunboats during the Homeland war in 1991, This resort was primarily a military resort and it was rumoured that General Tito had his own hotel here and it suffered heavy damage, The resort is made up of four hotels, the Pelegrin, Kupari, Grand, & Goricina and it was kinda weird to be walking around the hotels whilst people where milling about in their speedos and bikinis and sunbathing amongst the ruins of the hotels.
Kupari during happier times when the hotels where luxurious

Today It looks very similar and like any tourist resort from a distance as people seem oblivious to their surroundings as they sunbathe and mill about amongst the bombed out hotels of the resort, here you can see all of the derelict Hotels dotted around the Kupari bay

Walking upon the structures brought back memories for me of Chernobyl with its overgrown foliage.

and the war damage was evident and I would not have liked to be standing on this balcony when this shell hit.

Inside this hotel was shitsville but you could see that it was once a grand affair during better times.

This hearse was in a patch of woods infront of this hotel...was thinking herman munster

The next hotel was the Goricina and it was equally blitzed
Going in through the front door, this picture belies the true enormous size of the hotel

This hotel was thought to be Titos own hotel and took plenty of fire
