So it's the weekend and my partner has the day off. I let him know I would like to go and visit the local prison. To my surprise he didn't argue so we got up and went exploring.
After spending half an hour looking at google maps and arguing on which way is best to go. We finally found the prison. Looking at it you would think u would never get in but we found an entry and was surprised to find another one on our explore. However we only managed to gain entry to the grounds as the house is boarded up and the high fence gates were all padlocked. We took a stroll round and took a few pics too. I was really pleased still with what we did see and has made me even more eager to explore more. What a great hobbie to have huh?

Originally built in the 19th century as a private dwelling, during the First World War (1914-1918) Latchmere House was used by the Ministry of Defence as a hospital for treating officers suffering from "shell shock".

During the Second World War Latchmere House was used as a detention and interrogation centre (known as Camp 020) for enemy agents captured by MI5. Many members of the British Union of Fascists were held at Latchmere House during this period. They included the environmental pioneer Jorian Jenks.

Latchmere House was transferred to Her Majesty's Prison Service in 1948. It was used as a Young Offenders Institution, remand centre, and a deportees prison before becoming a Category D men's resettlement prison in 1992.

Was it just a bell ringing or was it one of those ones that calls the police or whatever?
