Visited today with Miss CSI, done my research, borrowed a car and with a few tips from Lynton, cheers mate, off we went.

    Heres some history.

The Grange, originally known as Leybourne grange colony for mental defectives, is set behind gates in the spacious grounds and covers 270 acres.
It opened in 1936 and it housed 1200 patients. It closed in 1996. I have read that locals who have been inside, say it had a magnificent interior, a large wooden staircase that sweeps down the main hall and a large grandfather clock stood at its base.

    Heres some pictures.

This building is impressive, not the best picture of it as it was very open and exposed.

Some of the many buildings on site. We managed to get around, even though two vans were driving around the site, lots of tree hugging and getting stung by nettles.
