After reading a couple of reports on this, decided to check it out...

its been covered a lot , heres our abstract edge on it...

    History :

Loxley Chapel was built in 1787 by the Rev Benjamin Greaves who was the curate of Bradfield, along with a few friends. The chapel closed in 1993 after the parish had dwindled to an unsustainable amount. When the construction of the chapel had been completed, consecration was to be refused because the builders declined to put in an east window for unknown reasons. It was later sold at auction for approximately £315 and thus became an independent chapel. According to a religious census of 1851, an average congregation at an afternoon service was 200 and it had started performing baptisms in 1799. The first officer onboard the Titanic, Henry Tingle Wilde was reportidly christened here

Today the Graveyard and associated land is poorly maintained (it seems to be a theme in Sheffield graveyards).

Not a bad set of photos at all. A bit sparse on the history mind :p: Love that shot looking up at the organ pipes.

The Organ pipes are probably the best thing in there to be fair, it's a pity the organs not in the same condition; (

Nice report mate (whichever one of you shot this ;) :thumb

Mono adds a different slant on things in here with all the dark areas.

And I've got to give you an extra :thumb for no :gay torch dancing this time lol

mine are the lower res photos (clearly) ;-)

yeh, I almost left it as a mono report but couldn't resist. Should have the potential for vid footage on future reports, I'm more of a vid editor tbh.

Apologies, for this one the history was cut down, due to the number of recent visits on the site. Ill add a bit more in now. I did hear it was closed because the builders left out a critical window in the east side which sounds almost comical.

yeh no torch dancing this time, but think bonus points were deserved for finding the Tag on the "trophy cabinet" ;-)

there seems to be a few graveyards left to rot, theres a lot of conjecture about whos at fault with this, more info on the link here:
