Been hoping to get here for such a long time and not too long ago Me , Ssshhh.... and a non-member set off for the grand adventure that is Mansfield Hospital.

Surrounded and overlooked by either residential or commericial properties from practically every angle makes for a rather ridiculous approach, within moments of dropping in behind enemy lines , the brightness of a flourescent vest in the extreme corner of my eye gave us the vital seconds to dive for cover, behind some of the most unfeasably small items, literally feet away and looking puzzled was what we presumed was the resident secca man, minutes later he was off and we moved further to our goal only to end up in a large room but our prize was behind nailed up doors and we could hear activity above and around us, hoping that the sirens weren't for us we huddled for over 20 mins behind a dark door, feeling really apprehensive about being shown out and not getting see it after being so close and driving a fair way.

Looking around I saw another option and we were in, shortly after I opened a door onto the main corridor and saw silohetted in the brightness of the sun said secca man, tiptoeing straight towards us luckily the dark end of the corridor had given me cover, so we headed back and waited in a basement for a while, eventually we got up to the higher floors at the top of each stairwell many a sign proclaiming warning security and guard dogs on patrol where also almost looking strategically placed were dollops of doggie doo and bits of sausage, ah well not too much later we saw Mr secca go out the main gate and into a house but without a dog, perhaps the doo wasn't from a dog, the rest of the splore was mostly quite relaxed after this and we totalled 8 hours in this fab immense place.

    Ok lets pik...

Only this external taken from an internal due to it's locale.

This is where earlier I saw approaching tiptoeing secca but thankfully our end of the corridor was pitchblack so we must of been virtually invisible

It's a place full of contrasts, one minute things look dated then not so dated

Not long after our old skool shot we heard some loud clanging else where in building and we'd had our fill of Mansfield, not wanting to replicate our rather "in your face" entrance in reverse, we made our way to the uber old bit near the front but it turned out it was even more in your face than the way we came in so back to plan A, we jumped back over to civilisation with a drum roll of irate window banging, joyful that we'd splored Mansfield we hurried away with cheesy grins.

    Thanks for visiting us
