I spotted this building on Google maps (aerial photo) . It transpires that it's the pavilion of the Memorial Sports Centre, in what was Stirling Corner Sports Ground. It's pretty dilapidated and heavily vandalized, as it hasn't been used in decades. There's some info here.

An OS map surveyed April 1964 indicates that the square just south of the pavilion on the aerial photo is a bowling green, the grey rectangle SW was tennis courts, and to the west, close to Barnet bypass, can barely be discerned the site of the running track.

I arrived around sunset on 2007-08-25 and took these pictures:

    What's this?

Earlier that evening, I passed some farm buildings at Rowley Bank Nurseries. Pretty much the whole area between Rowley Bank Nurseries and Stirling Corner Roundabout is derelict. I thought I'd include them here as they don't warrant a thread of their own.

The building on the right is the one in the previous two photos.

The land may be owned by a company called Sterling Corner Ltd (sic), who do recycling (?). Only thing left from its original use are the big blue things. Little is known about its original use. If I find out more I'll post it here, but as it will probably involve perusal of microfilm of the 1960s lo cal press, don't hold your breath.

There's are some smaller buildings with collapsed roofs nearby. One can be seen from the upstairs window shot.
