History - Established in 1926 G.L Murphy Machinery Ltd. was an industrial parts manufacturer, In 1949 the company located to the Imperial works on the rural outskirts of Menston, West Yorkshire. The company made tools, belt driven machinery, transmissions and electrical equipment, specialising in items for tanners and leather manufacturers in addition to glue and gelatine plants. They produced batch runs of specialist components and carried out renovation work on various machine parts. The factory closed in 2002.

The Explore - Yep it seems this is another one that has been done to death but we (Team Erection Inspection - the other member of which is also a 28DL member but I have no idea what his username is) were looking for something quick & local. Access was easy & the inside is pretty cool with a really nice chilled vibe. Only one section had been 'pigeoned' which was better than our last explore. I only had my phone with me so please excuse the picture quality. Once we had left & were back outside we were approached by a chap I assumed to be the resident of the house next to it. He just asked if he could help & I told him I liked the look of the building & had stopped to take a few pictures. He replied that a lot of people seem to do that & left us to it.
