Had a quick gander around this place the other weekend. Nice relaxing kind of explore, very easy access, no trouble and a great location. A lot of tools an machinery has been left so there's plenty great shots to be had for all you photographer types.

History is well documented but here's some anyways...

G.L Murphy Machinery Ltd. was an industrial parts manufacturer established in 1930. They were based in a mill named Imperial Works on the rural outskirts of Menston in West Yorkshire.

The company made tools, belt driven machinery, transmissions and electrical equipment, specialising in items for tanners and leather manufacturers in addition to glue and gelatine plants.

They produced batch runs of specialist components and carried out renovation work on various machine parts.

    The factory closed in 2002.

When I visited, the place next door was still being used and we could hear someone using a power tool and music on the radio with the occasional whistling. We had to be quiet as there was only a door keeping us apart (the one at the top of the staircase near the NSFW wall)

The workshop bit with all the pigeons was still in use? How long ago did you go because it's nackerd now. That wall still cracks me up.

I think it was around 2 months ago? The Murphy's building certainly wasn't in use but one of the buildings that shares the same compound was and there's a high door that separates the 2 buildings. I peeked through the gap and saw a bloke working on something (his back was to me so I couldn't see what)
