Hi guys. Fairly new member. Been lurking and reading for a while as a guest. There are a few sites in the area that don't show up on a search so thought I'd start checking some out. I'm not sure of the current working status of this quarry. I've been watching it over the past few months and sometimes it seems active although the machines and workings are pretty trashed. A lot of the electrical cable was stripped a few years ago so I guess it's not been used to its full since then. New machines and bits seem to be stored there and the has been recent activity from Cappagh.

Not much info about the site although it's changed hands from RMC, Readymix, Hanson and Cemex since I've lived in the area.

Pictures are only from iPhone as I was passing so stopped in to check current status.

Any news as to what is going on with this place? it seemed really active about 3 months ago, to the point it was full of workmen and vans? has quarrying work started up again, or is it all a part of local flood prevention?

The main site is pretty trashed and looks in the same condition it was a year or so ago after all the electrical wires were robbed. There is new machinery there a looks like it may be used as storage as there's a low loader trailer and loads of skips/tyres around the place. Been a huge tractor blocking the main entrance for a few weeks now.

Yeah, the main reason i was unsure if it was operational was the massive amount of earth moving that went on at the place
