This has been covered so many times in the past, so I'll try and keep it fairly brief for you all!

Pyestock: For over 50 years Pyestock was at the forefront of gas turbine development and was almost certainly the largest site of its kind in the world. V bomber, Harrier and Tornado engines were all rigorously tested on site, the power of the air house allowed Concorde's engines to be tested at 2,000 mph, every single gas turbine installed in the Royal Navy were checked here, captured Soviet engines were discretely examined - and all this on terra firma, without a single plane taking off.

After spending a fair while wandering around the woods we finally found ourselves inside the infamous Pyestock! hmm what to do first, was hardest decision of the day. Straight to the Air House, where we were greeted by the hanging chair! Then up the stairs and, Wow! this place really is huge. Unfortunately the Pikey's really have pillaged this place to within an inch of its life.

After looking around for a while we got disturbed by what sounded like foot steps and voices. Pikey's, security or just pigeons? not wanting to risk finding out what or who it was we dived down into the bowels of the Air House and slowly and quietly made our way back out!

Next across the masses of pipe work to the central bridge and into the offices of cell 3. Nothing that exciting, except for an old poster. Then into the main event. Cell 3! wow this place is amazing, especially for a Pye virgin! Alot of time was spent in here walking, climbing around etc. Found some nice light bed time reading inside the test chamber too.

Finally back out and we decide to walk across the pipe work and head to the computer building. I break cover and run towards the building... only to see the infamous Land Rover come driving around the corner of the building and heading straight towards us, shit!

Running back to the cover of the masses of pipe work and the central bridge, we decide to call it a day and make our way out via the blue pipe field, while stopping for a few snaps lol!

What an exciting day was had and certainly have to venture back to this amazing place before it is lost for good. So much more left to see which we didn't cover.

All those warnings just makes it more exciting!

The famous chair from a (hopefully) slightly different angle!

    Checking the coast is clear!
