    It's still a bit like asking what Chris Sharma has done on ice though. Different strokes & all that. Wasn't Will Gadd at the forefront of dry tooling when it boomed?

    The grit question is traditional rhetoric, not a series point. As for Will Gadd, yeah I guess, though I always thought dry tooling was born on the Dover sea cliffs in which case I can claim to have been there at the start of it all!

    Yeah, know what you mean about the grit thing, just that Will Gadd is a bit of an exception in that field & most people on here probably haven't heard of him until this.

    Think you're right about dry tooling starting in the UK, remember reading about it first there but then saw some ridiculous mixed routes being done by Gadd. Dover sea cliffs would be awesome place for it to start tbf & probably a lot gnarlier than straight ice climbing too :thumb
