Cheers to Dave and xm657 for background info on this place. SLP where predominantly heavy engineering fabricators of the gas & oil industry but also worked on fitting out ships/ ferries.
Another piece of the Industrial North East gone to fook and awaiting demolition. Although it has been bought by nearby Able (of Ghost Ships fame) I fear it is only due to the land value in this area is rocketing rather than as a requirement for expansion.

This is a massive site and still has some nice things to see, so get along while you still can.

The first room I found was an old medical room. There were a few antiquated items left lying around, but this chair and 'leg rest' were really nice

The main warehouse/ workshops are vast

I found this proud old photograph on a wall in one of the porta cabins

    Random chair storage

These were all over the shop floor

    Old nuts and bolts

Up these stairs was the QC Dept

which had it's own radiography dark-room

I also found some sheets of brown plastic with 'x-rays' that were date coded along with some old drawings (didn't take a pic for some reason?)

Old heavy duty steel 'dolly' on wheels

Another building housed the M&E department that, from the drawings I found, specialised in re-fitting ferries and cruise liners. M&E guy's are nearly always poncey so their offices were done out to a better spec than the rest of the factory

This building was majorly trashed with only a few note worthy area left.

This room had real atmosphere. The light pouring through the roof is due to pikies nicking the copper feeding the AC unit (picture Doxfords type scenario)

Was a good few hours in a nice relaxed atmosphere.

    Thanks for looking.
