This is my first report, go easy!

I'm an amateur photographer that has a keen interest in the buildings forgotten. My whole life I have lived a very short distance from the "Upwood RAF Airbase, England" which lured me in like a trap. I will be photographing each visited location as a priority, but giving useful and hopefully helpful tips in case you visit the same places.

This report is on a small house on the river road of Forty Foot, Cambridgeshire (not currently tagged on locations map).

I would not recommend anyone visit this alone as the structure of the house is almost nonexistent. I wouldn't personally recommend anyone visit any abandoned building alone in the first place, however this one is definitely not a solo job.

    Exterior:
Extremely overgrown with nettles. I managed to battle my way through to the front door without too much injury. There is a very old padlock on the door which had been broken open prior to my arrival.
My first rule is if there is no entry, keep it that way. There is a few barns with old farming equipment that I didnt manage to get close to due to the nettles.

    Interior:
As for the interior, there is very little left. The floor is pure dirt. There was once an upstairs however the stairs are nowhere to be seen, I would not recommend doing what I did, which was climb up to the door where the stairs led. The floor is very unsafe and did not take any further steps than the doorway.

Of note, there are a few bottles on the mantelpiece, and more interestingly an extremely old bible left on a desk in direct light on the window, a perfect scene.

    Overview:

If you're into your history, and feel this appeals to you, I would say its definitely worth a visit. As stated previously, DO NOT visit alone. Its a beautiful house and should be enjoyed by all who appreciate.

    Thank you,
    Kieron Exley

Nice photos there!I was here myself about 6 weeks ago... Disturbed a barn owl which flapped and scurried out from between the ceiling and the outer roof and scared the living daylights out of me.
Did you get to see the other abandoned house a bit further down this road? Personally I felt it was a slightly better explore simply because there were more personal objects dotted around. Wouldn't be worth the hassle though unless you happened to be passing :)

Hi there, I had no idea it was there, it was only when I looked on the locations tab on this website that I realized it was there, I will definitely have to take a look around.

    Thanks!
