    Old Lane Tunnel

Cutting through Dean Clough Mills is the 403 yd long, now disused section of the GNR route from Holmfield-Halifax

The Northbridge section opened 25th March 1880 and finally closed to passengers in 1955

A short but sweet mooch with Stepping Lightly, We entered the tunnel at the South Portal, to the left is the now bricked section of tunnel that led through into the mill via Crossley carpets
